An Advice On Resume Template

By John Henderson

A resumes template is a tool that helps you advertise yourself well and win interviews and a good job eventually, in any field e.g. forensics or IT related optic fiber technology. The whole point in approaching companies in such a manner is to be convincing and  please the employer’s eye when he/she reads so that they may want to learn more about you in a face to face meeting. What people forget is that no matter how great the resume template may be, there are many things that can go wrong in resume writing that can alter the results.

Mistakes do happen and some of them are indeed more frequent than others. Although the use of a resume template brings more confidence, you should still pay attention to those details that could discredit you if you don’t pay enough attention to them. For instance, errors in spelling and punctuation make the most common and harmful error in resume writing. Don’t rely on the spell-checker because that is not enough.

After implementing the resume template and filling in with your personal data, it is a good idea to show the resume to some friends and ask them to read it out loud. You can thus become aware of the relevancy and accuracy of the document, because if you hear a pause in their reading or if you don’t get everything clear, it means that there must be some confusing structure somewhere in the text. Correct such errors right away, because these mistakes cause the failure of your job application.

In the first half of the resume template, after the section of the personal details, you should include a resume profile or an objective. Don’t waste people’s time, and tell them what you have to offer from the very start. This could get you discarded from the very beginning, and it is surely something you have to avoid by all means. The job will be much closer to you if you manage to impress!

You should focus on responsibilities rather than on results. The former jobs specificity has to be depicted in one of the paragraphs of the resume but in brief, yet relevant sentences. This will give a clue to the employer about the way you’ve contributed to the growth of other companies for which you worked. The more specific you are in this resume section, the better the impression you’ll make on the recruiter or employer!
