At present, the unemployment rate is 9% and it is the worst rate for the past twenty years. The industries like steel manufacturing, IT, automotive, and finance have all suffered great losses where once they were considered most secure. Despite news of economic recession and depression forecast, jobs are still available in flourishing occupations such as business operations, sales and installation, maintenance and repair, the service sector and management. It’s no surprise that some of the best future careers will be in the health care industry. The health care industry added 20,000 mental health counselors, 92,700 hospital positions, 117,000 ambulatory care positions, and 19,600 nursing facility positions from January to August 2008. New health care job opportunities are going to be opening as aging baby boomers retire from their positions. The requirement of Physical Therapists, Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, Biomedical Technicians and Health Policy Specialists is increasing as the age of our population rises. Although the enduring positions are changing from web hosting, design, and IT start-ups to positions like Network Systems and Data Communication Analysts, Network and Communication System Administrators, Database Administrators, Computer Programmers and Computer Applications Software Engineers, the computer industry is still a hot area to find jobs. In all businesses, trained professionals are needed to help executives in their day-to-day work, such as, security, maintenance of computers, which in turn will result in smooth functioning of the business. The executives are thus able to devote their time to more important tasks. The projected growth is up to 55% in certain areas.
